To mark the 70th Anniversary of Nepal–Japan Diplomatic Relations, Love Green Nepal, in collaboration with Dhunibesi Municipality, organized a special Paiyun Tree Plantation Program followed by a talk program titled “Journey of Paiyun” on Sunday, August 2, 2026 in Dhunibesi, Dhading.

A total of 70 Paiyun (Prunus cerasoides) seedlings were planted, symbolizing the 70 years of friendship and diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan. The plantation highlighted the shared commitment to environmental conservation, community participation, and a sustainable future.

The program was graced by H.E. Mr. Maeda Toru, who actively participated in the tree plantation. Mr. Bal Krishna Acharya, Mayor of Dhunibesi Municipality, also participated in the program. During the occasion, H.E. Mr. Maeda Toru made a courtesy visit to the Dhunibesi Municipality Office, where he met with the Mayor and municipal representatives.

Following the plantation, Dr. Yuki Ito led the “Journey of Paiyun” talk program and delivered an informative presentation highlighting the ecological and cultural importance of Paiyun and efforts toward its conservation and promotion.

The event brought together environmental conservation, local government cooperation, and Nepal–Japan friendship, making the 70th anniversary celebration a meaningful and memorable occasion.
