Project Overview: Love Green Nepal (LGN) proposes the establishment of digital libraries at Kali Devi Secondary School and Bagmati Basic School in Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur district to enhance the quality of education. The project aims to provide students with access to digital learning resources, promote self-directed learning and support inclusive and equitable education, particularly benefiting children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Project Objectives:

Overall Objective:
To establish well-equipped digital e-libraries at Kali Devi Secondary School and Bagmati Basic School in Bagmati Rural Municipality to enhance access to quality education, promote digital literacy and create inclusive, technology-supported learning environments for students and teachers.

Specific Objective:

  • To construct and equip e-library facilities in both schools with appropriate infrastructure, furniture and digital devices.
  • To provide access to digital educational resources that promote independent learning, creativity and research skills among students.
  • To enhance teachers’ and students’ digital literacy through the orientation and effective use of e-library tools.
  • To bridge the digital divide by providing equal learning opportunities to students from rural and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Project Activities:
  •  Construction of an E-library room in Kali Devi Secondary School and Bagmati Basic Secondary School. Each school will have E-library room of 33.65 M² areas with corridor (Room size is 28.48 m2 and corridor is 5.17 m2).
  • Provision of necessary furniture like bookrack, table and chair in each school.
  • Provision of E-library related equipment with 8 desktop computers in each school.
  • Supervision of the local government during the construction period.
  • Orientation to the teacher and students.
  • Handover of the newly established library to the School Management Committee.
  • Evaluation of the project activities by SWC.
Expected Outcomes:
  • Improved access to digital learning resources for students, enabling self-directed learning and better academic performance.
  • Enhanced digital literacy among students and teachers, preparing them for technology-driven education and future opportunities.
  • Strengthened educational quality in rural schools, helping reduce the gap between urban and rural education.
